Pre-Emergent Weed Control – as the name suggests, pre-emergent weed control is an application to stop weeds before they emerge from the soil. Pre-emergent weed control does this by controling the germinating seed and stopping it from emerging as a weed. Pre-emergents need to be applied at specific times of the year as they only kill weeds as they begin to sprout from the seed. Because of the variety of weeds we have in the Tulsa area, pre-emergent weed control needs to be applied several time each year. Our 7-Step fertilization & weed control program is designed with all of these pre-emergent weed control applications to help prevent weeds throughout the year.
Post-Emergent Weed Control – For any weeds that do appear in the lawn throughout the season our 7-Step Fertilization & Weed Control Program offers post-emergent weed control applications on every visit. This ensures you get that perfectly green, weed free lawn you have always wanted.
There are several types of turf grasses that grow in Tulsa and the surrounding area, with Bermuda and Fescue being the most common in our area. Bermuda is a warm-season turf grass and grows best once temperatures reach about 75 degrees and continue to grow throughout the summer months. Once fall arrives Bermuda’s growth will slow and eventually go dormant during the winter months. Fescue is considered a cool-season turf grass and grows best in cooler temperatures during early spring and fall. During the summer Fescue’s growth will slow and become more susceptible to disease. Your lawn should be fertilized when the grass is actively growing, so our 7-Step lawn fertilization and weed control program is customized based on the type of turf grass you have at your home or business.
